‘The Wheel of Time’ Comes to an End: Prime Video Series Ends After Three Seasons

The Circle of Time

There has been a final spin in the journey of this series.

The cancellation of the show has been confirmed by the decision makers at Prime Video. Reports indicate that financial factors influenced this decision, yet executives have also referenced creative aspects. Despite this, both Prime Video and Sony Pictures TV, the co-producer, are reportedly continuing to support the series as it approaches its Emmy campaign.

The adaptation of Robert Jordan’s book series features a notable cast, including Rosamund Pike, who also serves as an executive producer, Daniel Henny, Josa Stradowski, Natasha O’Keefe, and others.

The third and final season debuted in March. Critic Meghan O’Keefe described this season as the “most cinematic” yet. She remarked how incredible it was to watch, praising the talented cast and the storytelling, at least up until the conclusion.

“Everything is great, but Season 3 is the end,” she noted. “After watching the full season, the final episode feels somewhat lacking. Major plot conclusions seem rushed, which is disappointing. With the cancellation, the variety of shows will shrink significantly. The changes made from the books to streamline future seasons leave a somewhat bitter aftertaste.”

In discussing the season’s release, Pike expressed pride in how women see themselves reflected in the character of Aes Sedai.

“Robert Jordan created a fantasy world where women who once felt unseen now have role models throughout the series,” she said. “Jordan’s tale, while modern, emphasizes inclusivity in every aspect—whether it’s casting diversity or representation of different abilities.”

All three seasons of The Circle of Time are available for streaming on Prime Video.
