Online, users are heavily criticizing a strange headline questioning where Jews ‘fit in.’

The Washington Post faced backlash on social media following an article that implied some locations are unsuitable for Jews, following the tragic murder of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C.

Jaron Lisinsky and Sarah Milgrim were shot outside the capital’s Jewish Museum on Wednesday night. Authorities arrested the suspect, who reportedly yelled “Free Palestine!” while being recorded.

One critic expressed disbelief, stating, “We can’t fathom the depth of intentional ignorance or evil it takes to write something like that.” Although many reacted with outrage, the Post appeared to capitalize on the situation by initiating debates regarding the idea of places where Jews supposedly don’t belong.

As critical comments escalated, the article’s engagement ratio tilted towards disapproval, leading to a flood of negative reactions. The headlines drew further attention, with reactions ranging from disbelief to furious condemnations. One commentator called the headline “psychotic,” while another remarked, albeit humorously, that there should be consequences for the writers involved.

One commenter questioned the absurdity of the headline, comparing it to Germany in 1943, while another interjected, “Did Hamas write this headline?” The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, faced court on Thursday and may potentially receive the death penalty for his charges related to the murders.
