Naomi Watts and her recently out transgender daughter Kai hold a fundraiser for ‘Holy Spirit’ support.

Naomi Watts and Child Host LGBTQ Fundraiser

Actress Naomi Watts and her youngest child, Kai, recently organized an LGBTQ fundraiser in Midtown East, dubbed the “Mother’s Daughter Holy Spirit Party.” This event followed the revelation that 16-year-old Kai had come out as transgender.

Kai, who was initially named Samuel Kai, is the child of Watts and actor Liev Schreiber. Recently, Kai has embraced life as a transgender girl and has even taken up modeling.

At the event, both mother and child donned matching gold metallic outfits, with Kai completing the look with high-knee white leather boots.

Prior to the event, an announcement celebrated Watts’ involvement in fundraising efforts for the organization, which supports trans justice.

One message from the organization highlighted, “Parental love is essential for everyone, especially for trans individuals.” This sentiment was echoed by Watts during the fundraiser.

When Kai came out, Liev Schreiber reflected on the moment, describing it as a “deep moment” but admitted he wasn’t entirely surprised. “To be honest, it didn’t hit me that hard because Kai had always exhibited such feminine traits,” he said.

Schreiber emphasized that Kai’s journey is not just about the trans community but also addresses broader issues for people lacking adequate resources and support.

Kai’s announcement, according to Schreiber, was significant. It conveyed a powerful message: “Hey, I’m trans, and this is me.”

Kai Schreiber now joins a number of other celebrity children who have also come out as transgender. Notably, at least 14 well-known figures, including Robert De Niro, Cher, and Jamie Lee Curtis, have shown support for their transgender children.
