Candace Cameron Bure from ‘Fuller House’ promises to be in her ‘best shape’ by 50.

Candace Cameron Bure on Fitness Goals and New Projects

Candace Cameron Bure, who recently celebrated her 49th birthday, is focused on achieving “the best shape of my life” as she enters her 50s next year. “That’s what I’m aiming for,” the renowned actress shared with Fox News Digital. She noted that her busy filming schedule often takes precedence over her fitness routine, making it tricky to feel at her peak. “I’m active and healthy for myself, but turning 50 makes me want to be in great shape,” she added.

Currently, Bure is working on a Christmas movie for the network, titled “Timeless Tidings of Joy,” while also preparing for another project starting next week. Additionally, she stars in the upcoming “Ainsley McGregor Mysteries” series.

Bure has openly discussed her past struggles with body image, admitting that she “whipped” herself for years over it. “So my fitness game is definitely going to pick up once I wrap this film,” she mentioned. “Honestly, I feel really good.” She has been focused on fitness since her early 30s and believes preparing her body is crucial as she ages. “It’s not really a vanity thing; it’s more about being able to do things like open a jar of peanut butter when I’m 80,” she joked, adding that staying strong is important to her.

Her reasons for maintaining fitness have shifted over the years. Now, she prioritizes her health for her family rather than purely for aesthetic reasons. “I have a very grateful attitude towards my body,” she said, reflecting on how her perspective has changed.

Bure emphasized that fitness doesn’t solely mean hitting the gym. “I enjoy weightlifting, but it’s really about finding fun activities to get moving,” she explained. She enjoys biking, doing handstands, skateboarding, and even roller skating. “My family loves a good game of pickleball; it’s competitive and fun,” she noted.

Aside from her holiday projects, Bure is thrilled about her new mystery series for Great American Family. “I love this genre; cozy mysteries are so enjoyable,” she expressed. Reflecting on her past success with the “Aurora Tea Garden Mystery” franchise, she wanted to create something new with fresh characters and stories. The first film in the new series, titled “Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker,” was announced last year.

Bure described the mysteries as entertaining and family-friendly. “It’s a whodunit without the bloody elements—a great watch for everyone,” she said, with each installment aiming to elevate the storyline and dialogue.

In her latest mystery, viewers will reconnect with familiar characters while diving deeper into their backstories. The series, directed by Martin Wood, ensures a collaboration that excites Bure, who has worked with him on past projects. “We’re a little dream team making these films,” she added.

Regarding what audiences can expect from the second installment, she mentioned they’ll need to pay close attention. “Listen to the cues and the dialogue; each word matters. I hope you won’t guess the ending in the first 10 minutes,” she teased.

Bure also stars alongside her daughter Natasha in “Timeless Tidings of Joy,” and she’s eager to share her industry knowledge with her. “After 40 years in the entertainment business, the biggest thing is to be happy and to have wisdom to share with her,” Bure reflected, appreciating the support she can offer her daughter as she navigates her own journey.
