Clarification from the Miss World Organization Regarding Miss England’s Experience in India

Miss England Withdraws from Miss World Pageant

The Miss World Organization has shared an unedited video of Miss England in response to claims made by the UK media regarding her time in India during the Miss World Pageant.

Mira Maggie, Miss England 2024, has stepped back from the ongoing Miss World 2025 competition, citing personal and ethical concerns. In comments to the British tabloid, the Sun, she mentioned that the pageant did not meet her expectations of “purpose beauty.”

The Sun also reported claims that contestants were encouraged to engage with older men to show appreciation for their financial support of the event. However, Julia Morley, the chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, dismissed these allegations as “completely unfounded and inconsistent.”

Earlier this month, Mira Maggie had asked to leave the competition due to a family emergency concerning her mother’s health. Morley expressed sympathy for Mira’s situation and noted that she returned to England to address the family’s concerns.

Reports suggested that contestants were expected to wear makeup constantly and stay in formal attire throughout the day. The organization expressed regret that falsehoods had emerged regarding Mira’s experiences in India, stating these claims contradicted the reality of her time with them.

In light of the allegations, the Miss World Organization released unedited videos from Mira’s stay in India, where she expressed gratitude and joy, reinforcing their stance against the recent misleading stories.

After Miss England’s exit, Charlotte Grant, the first runner-up, will now represent England, expressing her enthusiasm for joining the Miss World community.

The organization reaffirmed its dedication to truth, dignity, and beauty, urging media outlets to uphold journalistic integrity and verify sources before sharing misleading information.
