Michael Moore’s Altered Pledge of Allegiance

Filmmaker and activist Michael Moore took to social media on Monday to share a reimagined version of the Pledge of Allegiance, calling for unity against President Donald Trump and his supporters.

In his pledge, he stated, “I pledge my loyalty to the people of the United States, and to the democracy where we all stand: one person, one vote, one country, one part of the world, one table seating! Everyone! A slice of pie!”

Moore, known for his documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11,” emphasized the importance of maintaining democracy, saying that despite the challenges, there is a need to fight for a better future.

He also asserted some controversial opinions, suggesting that deported immigrants might have been capable of curing cancer and that he’s managed to avert a catastrophic asteroid threat anticipated for 2032.

After sharing the pledge, Moore encouraged his followers to engage in political activism. He suggested simple actions, like sending a quick email to elected officials, calling local representatives, joining progressive groups, and participating in upcoming rallies.

Moore urged, “Take at least one political action each day.” He reflected on the human experience, noting how our bodies operate; “Our minds don’t go for more than a second without creating a beat. Our lungs don’t skip for more than three seconds without inhaling.”

Previously, Moore has been vocal about his views on gun control, having proposed a “28th Amendment” aimed at abolishing the Second Amendment to enforce stricter gun controls across the U.S.

In his vision, he argued that the right to safety from gun violence should be a priority, insisting that “the intransigence of the right must not be violated and must be protected by Congress and the state.”
