Gotti Brothers Charged After Alleged Assault on Stepbrother
Two siblings from the notorious Gotti crime family are under suspicion for assaulting their stepbrother, following an incident where a relative supposedly stole from the home of the family’s patriarch, John Gotti. According to police reports, this occurred just a day after the alleged robbery.
John and Frankie Gotti, grandsons of the infamous John Gotti, known as the “Teflon Don,” have both been charged with assault and harassment. This stems from an altercation involving Gino Gabrielli, who is related to John’s wife, Eleanor Gabrielli.
In a statement to the press, Frankie’s lawyer described Gabrielli as having “some problem” and mentioned that the brothers approached him to discuss the issue. “I think he’s become a little smarter,” the lawyer added, somewhat ambiguously. It’s suggested that Gabrielli should have perhaps been more cautious.
The tension escalated when Gabrielli reportedly accessed John Gotti’s Jamaican home through a bedroom window. This has become a key detail in the unfolding drama.
Allegations against Gabrielli state that he stole earrings, a watch, wallets, along with around $3,000. He claims to have been caught on surveillance during the break-in, which doesn’t exactly paint him in the best light.
Following his arrest, Gabrielli was charged with second-degree robbery among other counts. But after he was released, the Gotti brothers reportedly sought him out the following afternoon.
Upon police arrival at the scene after a 911 call, officers allegedly witnessed the brothers striking Gabrielli during a confrontation. Both John, aged 31, and 27-year-old Frankie have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Frankie’s lawyer downplayed the severity of the situation, referring to it as merely an “argument between in-laws.” He asserted that the charges are trivial, characterizing them as a low-level misdemeanor.
The lawyer expressed confidence that the case could be dismissed, given that Gabrielli might struggle to meet his financial obligations related to the incident. He also threw in a comment about Gabrielli needing money, perhaps for boxing lessons, implying that his actions were driven by desperation.
This family dynamic is intriguing, especially considering the history associated with their grandfather, who led the Gambino crime family for many years. John Gotti’s legal troubles culminated in a serious conviction back in 1992, and he later passed away in prison.
Interestingly, young John Gotti has also had his share of run-ins with the law, particularly related to drug trafficking.
