Earlier this week, the Trump Meme Coin Project collaborated with the major NFT marketplace Magic Eden to roll out a crypto wallet aimed at offering financial rewards in the form of token cards to users on the waitlist. This wallet enables users to trade various cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchains.
However, it seems that Trump’s sons were unaware of these developments, as they’ve been working on their own branded crypto wallets for several months. Their project involves an Ethereum decentralized finance platform, while the Trump meme coin is actually under the direction of Bill Zanker, a longtime business associate of the president.
Not long after the launch of the Trump Meme Coin Link’s Crypto Wallet, Trump’s sons expressed their disapproval on social media regarding the project’s branding. Reports indicated that the cease and desist letter, issued on Thursday, came from World Freedom, which is associated with Zanker and the Magic Eden initiative.
Attempts to reach World Freedom, Zanker, and Magic Eden for comments were unsuccessful.
Hours later, users began reporting that the Trump Wallet website had gone offline. As of 5:45 PM ET, multiple users found the site inaccessible. There were reports that it was intermittently disabled on Thursday, though some users noted it was still occasionally available.
It remains uncertain if Trump is still engaged in the conflict between his crypto associates. His accounts on Truth Social and X have promoted products related to his meme coin recently, but they have avoided mentioning the wallets since the president’s family expressed opposition to those plans.
