Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Trial Continues with Alarming Testimonies
New York (AP) – A woman, referred to as “Jane,” recently shared her experiences with Sean “Diddy” Combs during his ongoing sex trafficking trial. She described a chaotic drug-fueled relationship marked by intense encounters leading up to Combs’ arrest in September. This incident reportedly followed a judge’s warning that Combs could be dismissed from the courtroom for disruptive behavior during the questioning of another witness.
Jane is among several individuals testifying against Combs, who faces allegations of violence and abuse, including testimony from his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. In court, Cathy, another witness, recounted multiple instances of Combs’ aggressive behavior, claiming there were many encounters—some of which involved him filming while he watched.
At 55, Combs maintains his innocence, asserting that he has not operated a business that condoned or concealed the mistreatment of women over the past two decades. If found guilty, he could face a sentence ranging from 15 years to life.
Jane recounted how, despite expressing her reluctance to be intimate with other men, she felt coerced into such situations by Combs, who effectively controlled many aspects of her life, including her rent. This pressure left her feeling “obligated,” even as she tried to communicate her discomfort.
During her testimony, Jane spoke quietly, primarily addressing the judge while avoiding direct eye contact with Combs. There were moments when jurors leaned in, visibly engaged, but Combs appeared indifferent.
The Downfall of Their Relationship
Jane, a single mother, revealed that she learned about a trip to Miami in 2020 with a friend who was dating Combs. She began dating him herself from 2021 to 2024, going by the nickname “Burt,” while Combs was referred to as “Ernie.” She became emotional when discussing how the relationship shifted in May 2021, as Combs began sharing his sexual fantasies and inviting her to participate in role plays. Initially, she thought these encounters would be unique events designed to please him.
However, Jane said that not long after, she found herself in a hotel in Miami, witnessing the setup for a group sexual encounter orchestrated by Combs’ assistant. “We really opened Pandora’s box that night for our relationship,” she reflected, noting that it had lasting repercussions, making it a difficult door to close.
Though she felt exhilarated initially, that feeling quickly turned to regret, and Jane reported that throughout their relationship, she found herself with other men while Combs observed nearly all of the time. When asked if she desired to be intimate with anyone else, she echoed a firm “No… it’s just Sean.”
Jane’s account echoed earlier testimonies, indicating similar patterns of prolonged encounters, sometimes lasting over 24 hours. The judge has taken measures to protect Jane’s identity, warning observers against revealing any details that might identify her. The Associated Press typically does not disclose the identities of individuals who claim to be victims of sexual abuse unless they opt to share their names publicly, as Cassie did.
Judge’s Warning to Combs
As Jane prepared to testify, Judge Arun Subramanian noted Combs appeared to be engaging with the court during lunch breaks, leading to a warning that further attempts might result in his removal from proceedings. “There should be no effort to interact with this jury,” the judge cautioned Combs’ legal team.
Combs maintained a relaxed demeanor, at times smiling, but was seen writing notes and consulting with his attorneys, indicating active participation in his defense.
Confrontations with Witnesses
In a separate exchange, a friend of Cassie, graphic designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, testified about an alarming incident in which Combs supposedly held her over a balcony edge for several seconds in a high-rise building in Los Angeles back in 2016, leaving her shaken. Bongolan’s credibility was challenged by Combs’ defense attorney, who suggested discrepancies in the timeline of events, pointing out that evidence showed Combs was busy on tour during that period.
The defense attorney pressed, asking, “One person cannot be in two places at the same time, can they?” to which Bongolan hesitated before she confirmed an incident had occurred, even if she couldn’t pinpoint the exact timing. She also admitted to attending a Combs event shortly after the alleged incident, suggesting the fear she felt wasn’t enough to keep her away.
