Kim Alexis Embraces Aging Naturally at 65
Kim Alexis, who celebrated her 65th birthday in July, is all about embracing aging. The supermodel, known for gracing over 500 magazine covers and appearing six times in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, is vocal about her journey of accepting natural signs of aging. Over the years, she’s authored several books focusing on clean diets and wellness.
“I’m not trying to change my face,” Alexis mentioned in a recent interview. “I have a strong belief in staying natural. Wrinkles? I accept and appreciate them. I’m not here to prove anything. Turning 65? It’s just a number to me.” She admits that while she wants to look her best, she keeps it simple—often sporting a ponytail and going makeup-free.
In her reflections, she shared insights about the pressures women face regarding their appearance. “I don’t want to criticize anyone for their choices. Women are often very protective of their decisions about beauty procedures. Just because I choose not to pursue them doesn’t mean I look down on others who do.” It’s a nuanced take on societal pressures that many can relate to.
Alexis also praises her contemporaries, like Christie Brinkley and Paulina Porizkova, who are open about their aging experiences on social media. “We’re all in this together, simply trying to do our best,” she says. For her, staying active is crucial. It’s about making healthy choices and creating a lifestyle that supports good health.
She’s made a conscious effort to keep her beauty routine straightforward—hydrating, moisturizing, and occasionally exfoliating. It’s less about chasing youth and more about maintaining a healthy glow. Alexis is also no stranger to physical challenges. She recalls running eight marathons in her 20s, but after some knee issues, followed her doctor’s advice to adapt her workouts. “I’ve had to reconsider my approach,” she confides.
Looking back, she remembers her debut in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1982 fondly. Those experiences, traveling to incredible places like Kenya and Jamaica, had a lasting impact. Yet, beyond the glamour, Alexis faced her share of attention, particularly from male audiences. “It was an eye-opener for me when I realized it wasn’t just women looking at magazines anymore,” she noted, reflecting on how the fashion world had shifted.
Now, living in Arizona with her family, she remains grateful and engaged with her fans. Many reach out for aging advice, and Alexis has a reassuring message: “If you focus on kindness, gratitude, and giving back, that’s what others will notice.” It’s an inspiring reminder that true beauty often comes from within.
