David Bossie: Terrorism, Gangs, and Spies Support Trump’s View on Immigration

With each passing session, it’s becoming clearer that President Trump has highlighted significant concerns regarding illegal immigration from the start. Even before his presidential campaign launch in 2015, he emphasized, “If there are no borders, there are no countries,” which some dismissed as exaggeration. However, the situation is sobering now.

Career politicians across party lines have defended measures like pathways to citizenship and pardons. Trump argued that national sovereignty and strong border security are essential and that clear criteria should govern entry into the country. To him, policies that undermine America are simply unreasonable.

Given the recent surge in anti-Semitic incidents and attacks nationwide, a reevaluation is essential, especially on college campuses. New arrivals must not only vow allegiance to America but also assimilate by learning English and understanding our historic and governmental systems. It’s vital to recognize the difference between right and wrong. Those who fail to denounce groups like Hamas, especially in light of recent atrocities, should not be allowed entry, and anyone here with a visa promoting hate needs to be deported.

While Trump emphasizes these critical issues, we must not overlook the national security threats posed by individuals slipping through because of mismanagement from former leaders. Whether it’s potential terrorists from the Middle East, gang members from Venezuela, or spies from China, Americans are witnessing the chaos that open borders have brought.

Tom Homan, a key figure at the border, has warned of a coming terror attack reminiscent of 9/11. Millions of illegal immigrants, including many unaccounted for, have entered the country over the last four years. Reflecting on the events of September 11, it seems reckless to allow such insecurity to persist. In truth, a thorough inquiry into border management under the Biden administration is necessary.

Simultaneously, Trump, Homan, and other leaders must receive more resources to expedite deportations, investigations, and arrests to tackle this escalating threat. Fortunately, the recently passed funding bill will boost the number of Immigration Customs and Enforcement officers, allowing for increased capacity to deport and detain individuals. The terrorist incidents that have occurred must serve as a wake-up call; it’s vital that politicians recognize the serious implications of these developments.

Across the nation, there’s a strong call for quick actions from Trump and others to address the dire consequences of current border policies. Trump’s recent comments underscore the necessity of securing borders and addressing extremism. The clear message is that any terrorists and sympathizers here on visas need to face immediate consequences.

Eradicating threats requires more than just deportation. Trump’s renewed travel ban on those from hazardous countries is a crucial step. His initial call for such a ban in 2017 has proven necessary, especially as policies from the Biden administration indicate a misreading of national security.

Ultimately, the vast majority of voters desire secure borders and safety for their communities, and that’s precisely what Trump is aiming to achieve with urgency and decisiveness.
