ICE Arrests in LA Involve Undocumented Immigrants Found Guilty of Murder, Sex Crimes, and Other Violent Offenses

Recent arrests by the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles have included individuals with significant criminal histories, such as murder and sexual assault.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) pointed out the complexities of illegal immigrants committing crimes in Los Angeles amidst protests against ICE operations.

In these operations, DHS identified some of the “most dangerous” individuals they’ve apprehended, providing details and photos of their offenses.

One notable case is that of Lionel Sanchez Laguna, an illegal immigrant from Mexico. His extensive criminal record features various charges, including domestic battery and firearm offenses in Orange, California, leading to multiple prison sentences.

Another figure, Armando Ordaz, aged 44, has a criminal background that includes sexual assaults and theft in Los Angeles—where protests have erupted over such arrests.

Then there’s Francisco Sanchez Arguero, a 38-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, who has faced charges for grand theft and illegal weapon possession, as stated by DHS.

Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, 32, is another individual recently arrested. His criminal background indicates several offenses, including possession of illegal tools and violent attacks in Pasadena, California.

Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, also from Mexico, has been linked to serious assault cases with severe injuries inflicted on victims in Los Angeles.

Furthermore, Jesus Alan Hernandez Morales, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, has a history that includes conspiracy to transport illegal individuals, resulting in a significant prison sentence.

Interestingly, the DHS also noted several arrests involving non-Mexican immigrants. Cuong Chanh Phan, 49, from Vietnam, stands out with a conviction for second-degree murder, linked to a notorious past incident involving a violent shooting during a social gathering.

ICE has also detained Rolando Venesion Enriquez, a 55-year-old illegal immigrant from the Philippines, whose charges include robbery and sexual assault crimes in California.

Jose Gregorio Medlanda Ortiz, a 42-year-old from Ecuador, was arrested for conspiracy related to drug trafficking, with a notable sentence for possession of large quantities of cocaine.

Other individuals apprehended include Mauricio Meza Esquibel from Honduras, accused of drug distribution and domestic violence, and Peru National Jose Cristobal Hernandez Buitron, convicted of robbery.

DHS Deputy Chief Tricia McLaughlin criticized local leaders, questioning their commitment to public safety, suggesting they prioritize the rights of serious offenders over community well-being. She emphasized the importance of ICE efforts in enhancing safety.

Meanwhile, California’s Democratic officials continue to attribute the protests to the Trump administration and are pursuing legal action against a federal order related to National Guard mobilization.
