Democratic leaders hold Trump responsible for worsening situation as anti-ICE protesters wreak havoc in LA

Trump Takes Action Amid LA Riots

As Los Angeles faces turmoil due to anti-ICE protests, President Trump is stepping in, while Democratic leaders seem to remain passive. Instead of backing his actions, many have criticized him, questioning his motives and actions during this crisis.

Recent footage highlights the increasing violence of the protests, yet Trump’s opponents seem unaffected, ramping up their critiques as tensions rise.

The exchange of words ignited over the weekend when Trump issued a memo to expand ICE operations for 60 days, leveraging his presidential authority to safeguard federal property. He cited the power under 10 USC 12406, asserting the need to protect federal officials and facilities amidst anticipated protests.

During his social media engagements, Trump targeted California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, criticizing their leadership. He posted, “If California Governor Gavin Newscum and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass can’t do their job… the federal government will handle it!”

In a bold move, Trump also called for the arrest of masked protesters, reflecting a growing frustration with the ongoing violence. He exclaimed, “It looks really bad in LA!!” urging for swift action against those concealing their identities.

Bass, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of peaceful protests while firmly opposing violence, stating, “It’s crucial that our city remains peaceful… being violent is not acceptable.”

Adding to the chaos, Bass criticized the federal response as disorganized and unplanned, accusing the administration of pushing a confusing agenda without a clear strategy.

Newsom announced plans to sue the Trump administration, condemning the deployment of the National Guard as a flagrant infringement on state rights, arguing it was likely designed to exacerbate the current situation.

He further labeled Trump’s rhetoric as inciting violence and contributing to chaos, accusing him of creating a scenario reminiscent of dictatorship rather than democratic leadership.

Trump responded by defending his decisions, asserting that they were necessary to address the escalating violence. He claimed, “If they hadn’t acted, Los Angeles would have been completely destroyed,” positioning himself as the savior of the city.

The situation reached a critical point on Sunday as protests intensified and clashes occurred, with leaders on both sides blaming each other for the unrest. The conflict between Trump and California officials seems to show no sign of resolution.
