Primary Election for New Jersey Governor
There’s a primary election happening in New Jersey for the governor’s position this Tuesday.
The candidate endorsed by Trump is Jack Ciattarelli, who previously remarked, “I was able to grow significantly as a Republican candidate and came close to defeating incumbent Democrat Governor Phil Murphy, ultimately losing by just three points.”
As noted in a report, New Jersey is one of only two states, alongside Virginia, that will be voting for a new governor this year. Trump remains a pivotal figure in both the Republican and Democrat nominations.
Following a gathering with local GOP leaders at Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia, Ciattarelli stated that Trump’s endorsement is “a major deal” and emphasized that “the president is doing quite well in New Jersey.”
Ciattarelli, a former state legislator, is making his third run for governor after failing to secure the GOP nomination in 2017. His 2021 attempt brought him close to winning against Murphy, but he fell short by three points.
Trump praised Ciattarelli, stating, “Jack Ciattarelli is the first American candidate running to be the next governor of this great nation, and specifically, New Jersey!”
According to a post, Trump expressed confidence in Ciattarelli’s abilities, highlighting his understanding of the MAGA movement and claiming he would collaborate with the Trump administration to push forward an America First agenda. Trump noted that Ciattarelli would work on economic growth, tax cuts, border security, military support, and energy stability.
Trump assured his followers, saying, “Jack Ciattarelli has my complete support. He won’t let you down. Let’s make America great again—choose Jack Ciattarelli!”
