Hillary Clinton ridiculed for describing LA riots as 'peaceful protests'

Hillary Clinton Criticized for Characterizing LA Riots as “Peaceful”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton faced significant backlash for a post describing the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles as “peaceful demonstrations.” Critics labeled her remarks as “delusional,” suggesting she was out of touch with the reality of the chaos that ensued in Southern California, especially during President Donald Trump’s response.

In her post, Clinton contrasted the riots with Trump’s decision to mobilize the National Guard, stating, “California Governor Newsom did not ask for the National Guard, but Trump sent them anyway.” She accused Trump of creating confusion rather than ensuring safety, pointing out it was the first time in 60 years a president had made such a choice.

This comment ignited a wave of criticism on social media, with many expressing disbelief at her characterization of the events. Critics pointed out that comments on Clinton’s posts seemed overwhelmingly disapproving and that she may have disabled responses amid the negative feedback.

John Dennis, chairman of the California Republican Party, suggested that only the left was “invalidating comments,” further fueling the debate. Other users also chimed in, calling her out for what they saw as a misleading narrative.

A user noted, “These are not peaceful, Hillary,” while another questioned the seriousness of Clinton’s accusations regarding the National Guard, stating they require credible evidence. The tone of responses ranged from amused to incredulous, highlighting the divisions in public opinion.

Riots erupted as federal law enforcers began operations in Los Angeles connected to Trump’s immigration policies, prompting strong reactions from local leaders who condemned the violence while also voicing support for undocumented immigrants.

The situation escalated when riots turned increasingly violent, with images depicting looting, arson, and clashes with law enforcement surfacing on social media.

Amid the escalating unrest, Trump announced the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members to restore order, bypassing the state’s authority. In response, California filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, aiming to strengthen local control over its own state guard.

As disturbances continued, reports indicated that the Trump administration was also sending hundreds of Marines to assist federal officials in protecting personnel and property in Los Angeles.

Trump later defended his actions in a social media post, criticizing city and state officials for their management of the riots while lamenting the damage to homes and properties throughout the area.

Fox News Digital reached out to Clinton’s office for comments regarding her post but did not receive an immediate response.
