Brooke Shields' podcast discussion featuring criticism of 'too precious' Meghan Markle removed.

In a recent podcast dialogue, Brooke Shields expressed criticism regarding Meghan Markle’s behavior during an SXSW panel, describing it as “too valuable” to be removed.

Listeners can find Shields’ interview on the “Unexpected Journey Podcast” hosted by India Hicks, though access has been interrupted, leading to a “Page Not Found” message.

Shields, who was present at the 2025 Tony Awards, has not yet offered any public comments about the Duchess of Sussex or the incident itself.

Representatives for Shields, Hicks, and Markle did not provide immediate feedback to Page 6’s inquiries.

In a now-removed episode, Shields shared how Markle, even as a child, took a stand for gender equality, beginning her panel with a story that felt a bit clumsy.

Shields recounted a moment when Katie asked Markle her first question and referenced how she defended women’s rights as a child.

Markle’s narrative took a turn to when she was 11 years old, discussing a commercial that implied dishwashing was women’s work. “I kept telling her she’s 11!” Shields remarked.

The “Suits” alum has shared this story before, noting that afterward she apparently requested Proctor & Gamble to adjust their ad phrasing.

This request resulted in a shift from the original slogan, which stated, “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans,” to a revised version: “people all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”

“It’s too precious; they don’t want to sit and hear everyone being serious for 45 minutes,” reflected Hicks during the podcast.

“I interjected, trying not to be rude, but the atmosphere was so grave; I wanted to spice it up,” she recalled.

To illustrate her point, she joked about her own childhood experience, saying, “When I was 11, I was playing a prostitute,” in reference to the 1978 movie “Pretty Baby.”

“The place became lively,” Shields stated, observing that the audience seemed to unwind after her humorous remark.
