A Strange Incident in Kentucky
Recently, a rather unusual situation transpired in a small town in Kentucky. In Murray, a man named Jonathan Mason, 40, was arrested for allegedly letting a raccoon loose in a business.
Mason reportedly arrived at the establishment around 9:18 PM on June 6th, releasing the animal inside. Following this, the raccoon bit someone within the business, as stated by the police.
Authorities noted that Mason had been previously warned not to return to the location.
When the police approached him later, he didn’t comply and refused to roll down his windows. Officers eventually had to remove him from his car.
This incident was just the latest in a series of animal-related offenses attributed to Mason. Back in December of 2024, he was accused of trying to enter a liquor store with a mule while allegedly intoxicated. Police were called when Mason wouldn’t leave, and he was arrested after attempting to ride off with the mule.
Moreover, some witnesses observed Mason unnecessarily whipping mules at another business, after which the authorities had to step in. Just a few days later, police attempted to reclaim Mason’s mule while he was drunk. Reports say he was spotted riding the mule down the road and when asked to stop, he reportedly refused, leading to yet another arrest.
Mason faces numerous charges including two counts of animal cruelty across three separate arrests, third-degree escape or evasion of police, as well as disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
The Murray Police Department was reached for further comments, but no response was provided. The series of events has left the community shaking their heads, raising questions about Mason’s actions and the bizarre circumstances surrounding them.
