Father Charged with Murder of Bronx Toddler
The father of a two-year-old boy from the Bronx, who went missing last month, has been charged with the child’s murder as of Thursday. Arians Williams, 20, faces two counts of murder and manslaughter related to the tragic death of Montrell Williams, last seen on May 10, according to authorities.
Investigators reportedly examined video footage that allegedly shows Arian throwing the young boy into the air and later tossing him into a river on that same night.
Authorities discovered a child’s body, believed to be Montrell’s, washed up Wednesday afternoon close to the Whitestone Bridge, near Ferry Point Park in Queens. The remains were found wrapped in a blanket that was covered with a diaper and had socks on one leg, as per sources.
Prior to this heartbreaking incident, Arian, who was sharing custody of Montrell, had taken his son to a Mother’s Day gathering. Reports indicate that he got into a physical altercation with his own father during the event.
In the days following Montrell’s disappearance, the juvenile authorities were in contact with law enforcement, prompted by a call from Montrell’s 17-year-old mother.
Sources revealed that while both parents were on the street that Sunday, Arian allegedly threatened with a knife and claimed he had thrown their son off the Bruckner Bridge.
Arian was taken into custody the following Monday on charges of interfering with custody, as he refused to disclose Montrell’s whereabouts to a family court judge.
