In a military action named Operation Raisinglion, the Israeli Defense Forces targeted Iran’s nuclear and military sites last night. This included significant uranium enrichment facilities, resulting in the deaths of high-ranking military officials and nuclear scientists.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Iran is perilously close to obtaining nuclear weapons. He stated, “If it doesn’t stop, Iran could have developed nuclear weapons in a very short time — it could be a year or just a few months.”
The thought of nuclear weapons in the possession of Iran’s government is unsettling for many. It’s raised questions regarding the Israeli strike: just how close was Iran to creating a nuclear bomb?
For further insights, former IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus joined the Glenn Beck Program.
“Iran has been racing toward the bomb for a long time,” Conricus said.
Referring to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency, he added that Iran not only enriches uranium to weapons-grade levels but also possesses enough fissile material for at least ten bombs. Furthermore, he noted its defiance in allowing international oversight of its sites.
The IAEA’s report was a significant turning point that, combined with other classified intelligence, underscored the threat.
Conricus remarked, “Iran has an explicit goal of annihilating Israel… We know they are serious, and if we let them develop tools to achieve this, there’s a chance they might use them.”
Glenn referenced a recent Axios article indicating that two Israeli officials suggested that President Trump and Netanyahu misled Iran about a potential strike on an Israeli nuclear site. The article hinted that Trump publicly opposed the strike while privately endorsing it, aiming to throw Iran off guard.
“The president said, ‘We have 60 days to negotiate, but we don’t want to see what happens on the 61st day.’ I don’t think it’s deceiving to prepare for what might happen on the 61st day,” Glenn remarked.
Conricus sees it as a “deception,” but in a “positive way,” suggesting that Israel has kept its enemy “oblivious” and “unprepared.” He noted, “It’s quite easy for the Iranians to think they are securing the best deal possible.”
He explained that Iran has been made aware that it needs to “cease all enrichment attempts” and allow full inspections of all its nuclear and weapons development sites. However, he indicated that the administration has failed to enforce this.
“Today, we are at the 61st day of the President’s ultimatum. Here’s where we stand.”
