An X account has been set up to monitor the activity levels at pizzerias near the Pentagon, which seems to reflect government employees working late and possibly indicates rising tensions. This account, dubbed the Pentagon Pizza Report, provides real-time updates about foot traffic at local pizza spots.

Just hours before Israel initiated Operation Rying Lion, the account reported on four nearby pizza places, noting that “Most pizza facilities near the Pentagon are currently experiencing average traffic around 3:05 pm.” This information came in as tensions rose, particularly after a late Thursday evening airstrike in Arlington, Virginia, which was also followed by the account’s updates.

The updates continued, highlighting a significant increase in activity at the closest Domino’s to the Pentagon. At 8:57 pm, the account tweeted about a “surge in traffic” in that area. It noted that, “For the rest of the nearby hour, the second closest Domino (about an eight-minute drive) has seen very high traffic consistent with a typical Thursday at around 11 pm.”

The account didn’t just focus on pizzerias; it also monitored activities at Freddie’s Beach Bar and District Pizza Palace. By 11:30 pm, a post revealed that despite a 30-minute temporary closure, the Domino’s continued to draw a high number of customers while Freddie’s returned to average activity levels.

Users on social media reacted to the account’s findings. One commented, “It’s going to be all night,” while another suggested, “They should really open secret Dominos within the building.” Some expressed concern, with one user remarking, “I feel like this is really saying there’s panic in these places.” Another added humorously, “The pizza tracker is never wrong.”

The X account describes itself as “Open source tracking (and elsewhere) of pizza spot activities around the Pentagon,” promising frequent updates about long lines and hasty orders.

With a following of over 50,000 and almost millions of views, the Pentagon Pizza Report has garnered significant attention. On a recent Friday afternoon, the account shifted focus to pizza locations near the White House, with the nearest Domino’s reporting a “massive surge in activity today” around 4:10 pm.
