Vice President Vance Comments on Elon Musk’s Relationship with Trump
In Washington, D.C., Vice President J.D. Vance expressed a somewhat uncertain desire for Elon Musk to return to President Donald Trump’s inner circle. He suggested that if Musk continues to distance himself from the administration’s objectives, it could be a “loss” for him.
During a conversation with reporters at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where the opening night of Les Misérables was being held, Vance discussed rising tensions with Iran, particularly referencing a recent drone incident linked to Israel and airstrikes against Iranian nuclear sites.
“The president was clear… Elon made some remarks that were quite out of line,” Vance noted, standing beside his wife on the red carpet. “There’s a degree of frustration there, but the president also cares about Elon and doesn’t wish to be in a prolonged dispute with him.”
Vance added, “The president can clarify his stance. My views are straightforward. What Elon said was wrong. However, having one of the nation’s top entrepreneurs align with our agenda is ultimately beneficial for the country.”
Recently, Musk, who leads Tesla and SpaceX, faced backlash over his communications regarding the Republican reconciliation budget on his platform, X. This included his comments about Trump related to Jeffrey Epstein.
In an apology to users on X, Musk expressed disappointment over some of his earlier posts about Trump.
Reports indicate that he also reached out to Trump personally to apologize.
“I’m really pleased he did that,” Trump said, acknowledging Musk’s outreach in a brief conversation that morning.
Vance reportedly played a role in facilitating the reconciliation between the two parties that resulted in Musk’s apology.
If Musk chooses not to support the president again, Vance remarked, “I believe it would ultimately be a loss for Elon, but I hope he decides to rejoin the team.”
