LeBron James Hints at Retirement Timing
LeBron James seems to be giving fans a glimpse into his retirement plans, which might come sooner than expected. In a brief video posted on social media, the four-time MVP appeared before reporters during a press conference.
As the video plays, viewers see an intimate moment with James, who appears to be pondering a question before the screen fades to black.
In the post, he captioned, “I’ve been asking myself the same question…” and included some playful emojis. He tagged the video as an advertisement.
Having just completed his 22nd NBA season, James has shown impressive resilience, averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds this past season at the age of 40. His ability to post triple-doubles is noteworthy, particularly during the 2019-20 season when he clinched his fourth NBA Championship.
Additionally, he has set a new record for consecutive All-Star nods, reaching 21, and after celebrating his 40th birthday on December 30th, he averaged 25.1 points per game. A significant milestone occurred when his son, Bronnie James, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers last summer, allowing them to share the court for 21 games together.
As he considers his future, it’s uncertain whether James will play in the 2025-26 season, which would mark his 23rd year in the league—a new record, as he currently shares the distinction with Vince Carter. He has not yet made a commitment, hinting that he will reflect on his future after the Lakers’ playoff run concludes.
