Israeli official dismisses Trump's request for an Iran agreement, insists on changing the government

Israeli Official Speaks Out on Iran Conflict

Ohad Tal, an Israeli parliament member, expressed that reaching an agreement with Iran should not be prioritized without first overcoming what he called the “evil jihadist regime.” In a conversation from Jerusalem, Tal, who serves on the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, emphasized that Israel is currently in a historical conflict with Iran, highlighting a broader goal of liberating not just Iranians but the entire world from the Iranian regime.

Earlier, former President Trump remarked that Iran and Israel should consider business dealings, referencing his administration’s success in negotiating resolutions to other disputes, like those between India and Pakistan.

Concerns Over Iranian Leadership

Tal noted that the ambitions of both the Ayatollah and the Muslim Brotherhood revolve around the destruction of Israel and the U.S. He believes that to effectively halt Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, the regime itself must be defeated. He criticized the current administration’s approach, suggesting it does not aim to safeguard Israel, but rather seeks to undermine America.

He argued that more negotiations would only enable Iran to reassess and potentially advance its nuclear program. “Negotiating with a regime that supports terrorism is absurd,” Tal stated, advocating for a unified global effort to dismantle what he describes as an evil government. He insists that such action is crucial for ensuring a future of stability and prosperity.

Response to Military Actions

While discussing military actions, Tal shared that during a recent massive preemptive strike by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Iranian nuclear facilities and infrastructure, he received affirmations from Muslim and Arab leaders in the region. They conveyed that Israel’s actions not only protect itself but also provide security for their own nations.

He remarked on the existential threat that Iran poses, not just to Israel but to the entire world, asserting that such perceptions are crucial in how Israel confronts this challenge. He believes that the nation is gaining favor worldwide for standing strong against these threats.

On the military front, Tal mentioned that the IDF has gained significant control over Iran’s airspace and inflicted considerable damage on Iranian military capabilities. He pointed out the contrasting target practices; while Israel aims at military sites, Iran frequently strikes civilian targets. “It’s a different culture,” he noted, “one that glorifies death, while we value life.”

Support from the U.S.

Tal also indicated that he has garnered support from U.S. politicians, aligning Israel’s military actions with Trump’s “America First” policy. He suggested that such operations help avert broader conflicts that might involve the U.S.

“We have full backing from the Trump administration,” Tal maintained. “This approach helps prevent a more extensive war by addressing these threats effectively.” He clarified that Israel is not requesting American troops to fight their battles, but rather seeks assistance in neutralizing threats emerging from Iran.
