Uncooperative State Actors Lose Funding If They Do Not Work with Immigration Enforcement

Warning from Transport Secretary

Transport Secretary Sean Duffy expressed concern on Monday that “rogue state actors” will lose Department of Transport (DOT) funding if they do not comply with federal immigration enforcement.

“@USDOT will not fund fraudulent national actors who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement,” Duffy stated, particularly addressing cities that allow mobs to damage infrastructure.

He added, “And don’t expect a red cent from the DOT in cities where rioters are actively destroying transportation infrastructure. They will either follow the law or lose funding.”

This stance could jeopardize significant funding in the area related to federal resources intended for operations.

Duffy’s warning coincides with President Donald Trump’s directive on Sunday to enhance U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities in urban areas.

“Every day, brave men and women in ICE face threats from violence, harassment, and radical politicians. But nothing will stop us from fulfilling our mission to the American people,” Trump remarked.

“This push has driven us to achieve the largest deportation program in history,” he said, advocating for stricter measures to detain and deport illegal criminals in major urban areas, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City.

Trump accused these cities of using illegal immigrants to expand voter bases and manipulate elections, further burdening American citizens. He urged putting as many resources as possible behind enforcement efforts, likening these areas to sites of mass destruction.

The federal government will continue focusing on preventing access to individuals who threaten domestic tranquility, he emphasized.

The warning was issued shortly after riots began in Los Angeles, which coincided with protests against an ICE operation. These operations tackle serious crimes like child abuse and theft.

This isn’t the first time Duffy has cautioned regions about losing funds for not adhering to America’s first policy. He previously mentioned that DOT funding would be withheld from states or localities that provided driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants or pursued diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Duffy remarked, “We have laws that dictate compliance. There are numerous states and municipalities that do not follow these laws. Whether it’s discrimination against Americans or giving licenses to illegals in sanctuary cities, if they don’t comply, we won’t support their projects.”
