Tatum O’Neal and John McEnroe Reunite at Son’s Wedding

Tatum O’Neal had a long-anticipated meeting with her ex-husband, John McEnroe, during their son Kevin’s wedding.

The 61-year-old actress and the 66-year-old tennis legend attended the nuptials of theater actresses Fern Kozin and Kevin McEnroe on June 14 in Napa, California.

For the special occasion, 39-year-old Kevin sported a classic white tuxedo with black accents, while Kozin dazzled in an off-the-shoulder gown, complete with a lace veil.

This wedding came about a year after the couple shared their engagement news on social media.

In November 2023, Kevin shared a photo of himself kissing Kozin, who was proudly showing off her sparkling diamond engagement ring.

“Forever @Ferncozine,” he wrote in his Instagram post.

Kozin also shared the moment on her profile, along with another candid of the two enjoying time together, captioned, “Definitely ♥♥.”

Before the wedding, O’Neal expressed her hope to reunite with McEnroe, mentioning it had been a long time since they were in the same room. She seemed optimistic for this day, saying, “My anger is gone.”

O’Neal, who divorced McEnroe in 1994 after eight years of marriage, said she feels ready to mend fences.

The couple shares three children: sons Kevin, 38, and Sean, 37, along with daughter Emily, 34.

After their separation, McEnroe received full custody of the children due to O’Neal’s struggles with addiction.

In 1997, he married his second wife, Patty Smyth, and they have two daughters together.

During their marriage, McEnroe and O’Neal faced significant challenges, particularly related to her substance abuse, which led to rocky times and intense legal disputes.

O’Neal faced serious health challenges in 2020 after suffering a stroke following a drug overdose, which occurred after being prescribed morphine without the doctor knowing her history of drug use.

In the aftermath, O’Neal reflected on her struggles, stating that thoughts of her children helped her through dark moments. “I love them so much, but I’ve already given them a lot,” she shared.
