Democrats Respond to Senate Hearing on Biden’s Cognitive Health

Democrats emerged from a Senate hearing on Wednesday about former President Joe Biden’s possible cognitive decline and potential cover-ups. The discussions have brought to light some alarming insights into how governance has operated recently, especially with unelected officials influencing American politics.

One notable takeaway from these hearings is the suggestion that numerous laws passed could be, well, misplaced, in addition to the executive actions and pardons allegedly issued under Biden’s authority.

An investigation by the Surveillance Project revealed earlier this March that many of Biden’s documents, such as those related to amnesty and executive orders, bore machine-generated signatures. It raises questions regarding the legitimacy of these documents.

While Biden isn’t the first president to use an autopen for signatures, there are concerns that staff around him may have misused this method to push a radical agenda during his term.

The aura of a “shadow president” seems to be in effect here, similar to Donald Trump’s commentary about vague figures in the administration. The full implications of this situation remain to be seen.

Complicating matters further, multiple investigations have surfaced regarding the alleged misuse of the autopen following the alarming findings by the Surveillance Project, which suggests that decisions may have been made on Biden’s behalf by various “gatekeepers.”

The Senate Judicial Committee heard testimony on “How Biden Puts America at Risk and Undermines the Constitution.” It appears that attempts to mask Biden’s cognitive struggles were ongoing, with some media allegedly complicit in this effort.

Critics from within the Democratic Party, including Senators Dick Durbin and Peter Welch, expressed outrage at their colleagues’ choice to pursue these lines of questioning. Welch went so far as to argue that Congress should be focusing on issues like climate change and healthcare instead, asserting that the current dialogue was unproductive.

Durbin took to social media to decry the hearing as a “partisan farce,” claiming that it squandered valuable time and resources.

Meanwhile, Mike Howell from the Surveillance Project asserted the necessity for accountability, even if Biden’s term has ended. He noted that the use of an autopen has led to significant embarrassment for the United States, citing that the country must be transparent about its governance.

Some lawmakers, like Missouri’s Josh Hawley, questioned the denial of Biden’s cognitive decline throughout his presidency, asking, “Where are you now?”

Waldo from the Surveillance Project pointed out that the Constitution grants the president singular enforcement authority, emphasizing the importance of genuine presidential actions and authentications. He lamented the separation of Biden’s signature from his true consent during this administration.

Waldo highlighted that from June 2022 onwards, there was a notable increase in the use of autopens, with over half of the executive actions taken in Biden’s presidency being signed this way. Among the controversial actions were pardons involving Biden’s family and other key individuals.

Concerns were raised about whether key decisions were being made by staff rather than by the president himself, indicating a potential delegation of authority that seems to go against democratic principles. Texas Senator Ted Cruz echoed this sentiment, questioning the validity and approval of some controversial amnesty decisions made with autopen signatures.

Senator Eric Schmidt remarked that it appears the government is functioning not under a duly elected leader, but rather as a committee-driven entity. He is pursuing access to autopen-related documents to shed light on these processes.

The Monitoring Project has compiled a list of documents that allegedly have undergone autopen signing, and there are ongoing efforts to funnel this information to relevant investigative agencies.

With accountability lingering in the air, there’s been mention of the need to review if the 25th Amendment requires an update, especially in light of Trump’s assertions about treachery surrounding Biden’s cognitive state and decision-making.

The White House has yet to respond to requests for clarification on these issues.
