Mark Ruffalo Critiques Trump and Wealthy Elites at Rally
Mark Ruffalo, known for his role in Marvel’s Avengers, expressed his discontent with both President Trump and affluent individuals during a recent rally in New York. He asserted that while “billionaires” seem detached from reality, illegal immigrants are often unjustly accused of being a burden on the economy.
During a video recorded at a No Kings rally, he emphasized, “immigrants are not criminals,” insisting they contribute positively to society. He also characterized extreme wealth as a threat to the nation’s well-being, urging a collective effort to reclaim the nation from what he calls “real villain billionaires.”
Ruffalo further pointed out that the majority of crimes in the U.S. are committed by white individuals, reinforcing his earlier claims regarding immigrants.
In a written post dated June 7, he criticized Trump, Elon Musk, and other wealthy figures, advocating for a shift away from destructive influences in food production and pushing for natural alternatives.
He accused Trump of being a “glyfter,” alleging that the President is at the helm of a troubling network of billionaires profiting at the expense of ordinary people. Ruffalo described these wealthy individuals as having outlandish ambitions—like living on Mars—while ignoring pressing issues like poverty and disease.
However, his assertion that illegal immigrants bolster the economy is not supported by data. In fact, illegal immigration often results in a net financial loss. Many undocumented individuals receive more from welfare than they contribute in taxes, sending a significant portion of their earnings back to their home countries through remittances, which totals more than $150 billion annually. This outflow represents a loss to the U.S. economy, as this money does not benefit local businesses or contribute to government revenue.
