Incident Involving Ohio Republican Rep. Max Miller

Ohio Republican Rep. Max Miller reported a near-attack on Thursday involving a man holding a Palestinian flag, whom he described as a “crazy, confused man.” Miller expressed concerns about the growing hostility in the country, stating, “The chaotic hatred in this country has gone out of control.” He mentioned he even drove off the road in Rocky River during the incident.

Miller, who previously won an election in northeast Ohio in 2022 and has a background as a reserve in the U.S. Marine Corps, as well as an aide in the Trump administration, stated that he filed reports with both U.S. Capitol and local authorities regarding the encounter.

The Rocky River Police Department confirmed that they are looking into the matter but couldn’t provide additional details at this time.

Miller declared, “We know who this person is and he will face justice.” He reiterated his commitment to combating anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred in a social media video, saying, “I will continue to fight anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and all other forms of hatred.”

Addressing the individual who allegedly tried to run him off the road, Miller remarked, “If you have any issues, take it to our office. You want me to run off the road? That’s a different story.”

A recent survey by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) highlighted a troubling rise in anti-Semitic incidents and hate crimes against Jewish Americans, particularly since the onset of the Israeli-Hamas conflict in October 2023. The ADL works globally to fight anti-Semitism and other biases.
