ICE Agents Experience 500% Rise in Assaults During Arrests of Undocumented Individuals

Data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as reported by Breitbart News, indicates that assaults against Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have surged by 500% as they intensify efforts to locate and apprehend undocumented individuals in the U.S.

“Today, the Department of Homeland Security has revealed new data highlighting a 500% increase in assaults on ICE officers during their enforcement actions,” stated DHS Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin in an interview with Breitbart News.

McLaughlin referenced the recent apprehension of Roberto Carlos Munoz, a convicted child sex offender, who was trying to avoid arrest in Bloomington, Minnesota.

“This week, one ICE officer was dragged 50 yards by a vehicle while attempting to arrest sex offenders who are in the country illegally. Every day, ICE agents put their lives on the line to safeguard the American public,” McLaughlin remarked.

She also criticized several Democratic leaders, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, for making what she characterized as threatening remarks against ICE agents.

Wu and Walz drew comparisons between ICE agents and Nazis, while Jeffries voiced intentions to expose the identities of these agents.

“All ICE agents operating in this environment who think they can conceal their identities from Americans will ultimately not succeed,” McLaughlin warned.

“Let’s not be mistaken. Politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu, Governor Walz, and Mayor Bass have fueled a rise in attacks against our ICE personnel with their repeated slander and vilification,” she continued. “The violent rhetoric from these sanctuary city politicians is utterly reprehensible and must come to a halt.”

Recently, Rep. Lamonica McQuiver (D-NJ) was indicted by a federal jury for allegedly obstructing an ICE agent who was attempting to detain an undocumented individual in Delaney Hall, Newark, New Jersey.

Likewise, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has not charged New York City Director and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander for allegedly assaulting ICE agents or obstructing their operations.
