Iran Issues Evacuation Warnings to Israeli Channels
Iran has issued warnings for two Israeli news channels, advising preparations for potential missile strikes. This comes in the wake of an attack on Iran’s national broadcaster.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster, the strikes will likely occur on Thursday. Channels 12 and 14 from Israel have been identified as targets, based on a screenshot shared by Press TV.
In their announcement, Iranian officials labeled Channel 14 as a “terrorist network,” claiming it’s aligned with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran’s broadcasting entity stated, “The order follows the hostile actions of Zionist enemies against the Islamic Republic’s media services.” Notably, Channel 14 operates from Tel Aviv, which faced an Iranian missile attack last week, while Channel 12 is based in Jerusalem.
This warning arises after Israel’s recent strike on Iran’s state broadcaster, which interrupted live broadcasts and shocked viewers. Video footage depicted a female anchor fleeing the studio amidst the chaos.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz asserted that “Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpieces have vanished,” following the bombing that affected the broadcaster’s headquarters.
There has been no confirmation on casualties from the attack, though Iranian reports indicate at least one individual may have died. Prior to the bombing, the Israeli Defense Force had advised locals near the headquarters to evacuate.
The ongoing tensions led to both nations exchanging airstrikes, signaling a continued cycle of aggression. Just last week, Israel executed a preemptive strike aimed at Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.
In related developments, President Trump is weighing the possibility of U.S. involvement in further strikes against Iran, stating he would come to a decision within the next two weeks.
During an interview, Netanyahu indicated that Israel would proceed with its operations against Iranian nuclear sites, regardless of U.S. support.
On Wednesday, Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cautioned the U.S. regarding potential intervention, asserting it would lead to “irreparable damage” and declaring that the Iranian state would not capitulate.
