Trump Speaks to the Country Following the Bombing of Iran

Trump Addresses the Nation After Iran Strikes

On Saturday night, President Trump spoke to the nation following the US bombing of Iran’s key nuclear facilities, which occurred shortly after Israel launched its own strikes.

He made the announcement via the True Society, revealing that US forces targeted the Fordow facility along with Iranian sites in Natanz and Esfahan. Standing alongside Vice President JD Vance and other officials, Trump declared that these attacks had effectively eliminated crucial Iranian nuclear enrichment sites.

“We can report to the world that these strikes are significant military successes. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have completely disappeared,” he stated. He went on to demand that Middle Eastern nations must pursue peace, warning that any future attacks could be even more severe.

“For 40 years, Iran has called for death to America and Israel. They have killed our troops and caused suffering with their roadside bombs. That’s what they’re known for,” Trump added. “We’ve lost over 1,000 people globally due to their hatred.”

After the attack, Trump noted that all US aircraft returned safely from Iranian airspace, mentioning that “Bunker Buster” munitions were employed in the operation. These bombs are specifically designed to target enemy weapons of mass destruction within fortified sites, with the US B-2 Spirit Bomber being the only aircraft capable of carrying them, according to reports.

When asked about possible further actions, spokesperson Caroline Leavitt indicated that Trump would decide on additional strikes within a two-week timeframe.

Initially, Trump had given Iran a 60-day window to negotiate a nuclear agreement. However, discussions faltered as Tehran showed intentions to maintain high-level enrichment capabilities. The previous administration had stipulated that Iran could not enrich uranium under any future agreements.

On the 61st day, Israel struck at Iran’s nuclear facility, reportedly resulting in the death of a high-ranking Revolutionary Guard commander, according to Iranian state media.

“Iran needs to reach a deal or face consequences. We will save what was once the Iranian Empire. It’s crucial that we don’t go down this path,” Trump stated in a post following Israel’s initial attack.

The day before the US airstrikes, Iran had indicated it would not engage in negotiations concerning their nuclear program amidst ongoing Israeli attacks.

“It’s either peace, or Iran faces a tragedy far worse than what we’ve witnessed recently,” Trump expressed during his address. He concluded by stating that there remain many targets and emphasized their capability to strike efficiently if needed.
