Diddy’s Legal Team to Rest Case Without Witnesses

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team is reportedly choosing to conclude their case on Tuesday, opting not to call any witnesses in his ongoing criminal trial. This decision comes as somewhat of a surprise after weeks of testimony from the prosecution.

According to reports from Monday, it seems Diddy’s defense believes there’s little need to counter the prosecution’s arguments aggressively. Prosecutors have presented evidence suggesting Diddy abused his ex-girlfriend, Kathy Ventura, including claims about an event referred to as the “freak-off.”

While additional evidence may be submitted before they wrap up their case, there are no plans to bring in eyewitnesses, nor to contest the sex trafficking charges directly, TMZ mentions.

Prior to this, Diddy’s legal team shared some text messages in an attempt to show that Cassie and the alleged victim, known as “Jane Doe,” were involved with the “Freak Off” event.

In addition to these messages, it was reported that a video related to the “freak-off” was also presented. A Special Agent from Homeland Security, Joseph Celcielo, testified about reviewing numerous videos and examined various financial transactions tied to Diddy and others involved in the case.

Diddy’s attorney, Mark Agnifilo, had earlier expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of having Diddy testify in his own defense, possibly to avoid cross-examination.

If all goes as expected, both sides are likely to wrap up their arguments on Tuesday, with discussions set to conclude on Thursday. A verdict from the jury is anticipated soon afterward. If convicted, Diddy could face a possible life sentence.
