James Harden faces claims of carelessness in sexual assault case

James Harden Faces Charges Related to Nephew’s Legal Issues

Los Angeles Clippers player James Harden has been implicated in a negligence charge connected to a lawsuit for alleged sexual assault and rape involving his nephew, which reportedly took place during a Big V Day party in December 2024.

In the lawsuit filed in Harris County, Texas, Marisa Watley accused Judge Armani Blackburn of committing acts of sexual assault and rape. According to a news release from Wigdor Law, the negligence claim points to the improper handling of security arrangements by Harden’s domestic staff during the event.

No legal representation for Blackburn has been disclosed. Attempts to obtain comments from Harden’s agency and the Clippers were made.

Watley claims that during the party, Harden’s security team forcibly removed two friends who were with her, all the while jesting about her remaining inside. A friend of Watley reached out to her younger sister, Elana, who managed to capture photos of Harden’s security. However, a team member insisted that a woman present at Blackburn’s residence was not Marisa Watley, which is mentioned in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit asserts that if Harden’s security had acted with responsibility, the alleged assault could have been prevented.

Watley expressed confusion regarding Harden’s security personnel upon reporting the incident to police on New Year’s Day. She hopes that the lawsuit will encourage security staff to act more thoughtfully in situations involving women at risk.

Watley’s legal team announced intentions to hold Blackburn accountable for his alleged actions.
