A new steakhouse is set to open at the Swan and Dolphin resorts in Walt Disney World, and it comes with a dress code that’s notably different from the typical resort attire.
Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak started taking reservations last week. According to their website, anyone who has spent the day at the park will need to change before dining.
“This restaurant offers one of our signature dining experiences,” the website states. “Guests should dress in a way that aligns with the restaurant’s upscale environment. Clothing should be clean and in good condition, without any offensive language or graphics. Swimsuits are not allowed.”
A press release also mentions that this venue will be part of a program featuring “Newest Celebrity Chef Restaurants,” which will include 23 other dining spots and lounges. The first available reservation can be made for July 26th.
“Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin continue to stand out with their food and beverage offerings,” said Sean Burney, the region’s general manager, in an April press release. “Welcoming chef Mina is a step forward in our commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences.”
Mina, a James Beard Award-winning chef, is known for his culinary expertise. In addition to “Premium Cuts of Beef and Seafood,” the restaurant will feature indulgent signature desserts paired with sophisticated drinks.
However, details about the restaurant’s menu and pricing are still pending.
A Disney representative confirmed to Fox Business that the dress code language remains unchanged.
“Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is the perfect home for Bourbon Steak,” Mina commented. “Their dedication to culinary excellence aligns perfectly with our vision at the Mina Group. We see this partnership as an ideal fit and are eager to collaborate with our local team to bring this vibrant new project to life. Each Bourbon Steak will be specially designed to resonate with the local environment, and we can’t wait to showcase what we have planned for Orlando.”
Interestingly, while the Swan and Dolphin resorts are conveniently located near Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they are not owned or operated by Disney itself. Instead, they are owned by Tishman Realty & Construction Corporation and MetLife, and managed by Marriott International, Inc.
Nonetheless, guests at the resort can still enjoy Disney perks like early access to theme parks and complimentary transportation.
