Verbal Sparring Between Rep. Massey and Vice President Vance
On Tuesday afternoon, Republican Rep. Thomas Massey from Kentucky took to X to engage in a verbal exchange with Vice President J.D. Vance, escalating tensions between him and former President Donald Trump.
This back-and-forth began when Vance tweeted, “I wonder if the other VPs were as excited as me.” Massey responded sharply, suggesting Vance speak to Mike Pence regarding his recent experiences, referencing the Capitol riots where Trump supporters chanted “Hang Mike Pence” on January 6, 2021.
Ask Mike Pence about his last month.

This exchange follows politically charged statements from both parties. Recently, Massey criticized Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear site, labeling it unconstitutional.
This is not a constitution.

Massey has advocated for Congress to take a formal vote, introducing a proposal aimed at restricting US troops from unauthorized actions against Iran on June 17. On Sunday, he encouraged fellow lawmakers to engage in a vote on the matter.
Icymi: @Reprokhanna and I appeared @facethenation This morning we will discuss our resolution on war power.
Congress has only the authority to approve the war. @speakerjohnson We should bring our resolution to the floor for votes soon.
In light of Massey’s comments, Trump has criticized him for not aligning with “maga” values and declared his intention to support Massey’s opponent in the upcoming Republican primary.
Trump remarked, “In fact, Maga doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, doesn’t respect him,” and added a critique of Massey’s perspective regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions, suggesting it was contradictory to assert such political viewpoints while Iran openly declares hostility toward America.
