After gaining more than 0.50% in the previous session, AUD/JPY has dipped slightly, trading around 94.50 during Asian trading hours on Thursday. Technical analysis of daily charts shows that this currency pair continues an upward movement within a rising channel pattern, signifying a persistent bullish trend.
The 14-day relative strength index (RSI) remains above the neutral 50 threshold, reinforcing the bullish outlook. Moreover, the AUD/JPY position above the nine-day exponential moving average (EMA) indicates a robust short-term price momentum.
On the other hand, AUD/JPY may explore levels above the 95.50 channel limit, potentially reaching a four-month high of 95.75 that was noted on March 18.
It’s worth mentioning that the AUD/JPY pair might hit the crucial support level at 94.26, represented by the 9-day EMA. If it breaks below this support, the momentum could weaken, leading the pair toward the 50-day EMA at 93.50 and the lower boundary of the ascending channel around 93.00. A drop below this significant support zone may introduce a bearish sentiment, pushing the currency down towards a two-month low of 91.50 recorded on May 1.
