Carlson: Ex-Fox coworker Jennifer Griffin is 'definitely against Trump'

Conflict Between Tucker Carlson and Jennifer Griffin

Tucker Carlson recently criticized Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin as tensions arise concerning Iran’s nuclear program, particularly following a strike on three enrichment facilities in Tehran last weekend.

In a recent podcast episode, Carlson labeled Griffin a “liar” and expressed that her liberal views have fueled animosity toward Trump. He acknowledged having complained about her during his tenure at Fox, saying, “I don’t like the political stuff in that office,” while highlighting that he generally tried to avoid voicing complaints about his colleagues.

He also insinuated that Griffin had undue influence over the network’s leadership and described her as “too emotional.” In his words to Fox executives, Carlson questioned, “What are we doing with this Jennifer Griffin? She’s an idiot. She doesn’t tell the truth.” He claimed that she misleads viewers out of hatred for Trump, which, he suggested, aligns with what viewers prefer.

Meanwhile, Pete Hegses took the opportunity to reproach Griffin during a Pentagon briefing. He stated, “Jennifer, you were the worst,” to which Griffin responded, defending her accuracy in covering the B-2 bombers and the mission involved.

Support for Griffin has emerged from her colleagues and other media figures, who commend her thorough investigation into the US strike in Iran. The Trump administration has backed its controversial decision to attack nuclear sites, although differing reports on the extent of the damage have surfaced.

Britt Hume, a Fox political analyst, came to Griffin’s defense, noting her professionalism and unmatched experience with the Pentagon. “The attack on her was unfair,” he remarked.

Over the past few weeks, Carlson has publicly mocked his former network regarding its coverage of unrest in the Middle East. Top hosts seem to be pushing for greater US involvement in the Israeli-Iran conflict.

Additionally, Fox parted ways with a conservative commentator in 2023, amid revelations of past text messages suggesting leadership was carefully balancing perspectives from former hosts, especially following the events of January 6, 2021.
