Washington – A New Senate Candidate Emerges
The American First Movement has a unique figure at the forefront—Nate Morris, a Kentucky businessman and garbage collector, who is campaigning to take over from long-serving Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
Morris is presenting his candidacy through a launch video set to debut on Breitbart News. He emphasizes the state of Kentucky, stating, “It’s Kentucky’s garbage day. Things are dirty thanks to Mitch McConnell. Bluegrass states are tired of cleaning up the mess of career politicians.” In the video, he rides a garbage truck, tossing away a cardboard cutout of McConnell and campaign signs from the senator. He declares himself “America’s first conservative” and pledges to clean up the political landscape.
The ad, titled “Garbage Day,” is anticipated to gain immediate traction. Morris has already announced his campaign on the Triggered podcast hosted by Donald Trump Jr., suggesting he could quickly gain support from Trump’s circle.
In the promotional material, Morris is depicted riding through Kentucky, collecting discarded representations of McConnell’s political legacy—items that symbolize what Morris labels as McConnell’s failures. He humorously brands the trash can as “DC Swamp Cleanup Services,” accusing McConnell of undermining Trump and criticizing his 40-year tenure. The video features various campaign signs tied to unpopular policies linked to McConnell, including immigration reform and foreign spending.
Morris is positioning himself as a key challenger within the GOP, with other notable Republicans like Rep. Andy Barr and former Attorney General Daniel Cameron also vying for the seat. However, Morris aims to consolidate Trump’s backing to enhance his candidacy.
This Senate seat, traditionally held by McConnell, has become a focal point of conflict within the Republican Party, particularly given McConnell’s position as a leading Trump antagonist. On a related note, Rep. Thomas Massey has hinted at potential Trump support in the upcoming primaries should a suitable contender emerge.
Morris’s campaign video connects him directly to his competition, showing both Barr and Cameron praising McConnell. The visuals play on an old television, reinforcing the narrative that Morris seeks to disrupt the status quo.
Interestingly, Morris’s background adds a personal touch to his candidacy. As the founder of Rubicon, a major waste management company, he has built a significant business, providing thousands of jobs and generating considerable revenue. He describes his humble beginnings in Kentucky, sharing how he turned challenges into opportunities. “I was born in a union family, raised by a single mother on food stamps. I’m a product of bluegrass grit,” he says in the video.
His journey mirrors that of Vice President J.D. Vance, strengthening Morris’s ties within Trump’s inner circle. As he escalates his campaign, Morris has previously called for McConnell’s retirement, a move that has drawn attention from Trump supporters.
Morris’s agenda includes a full pause on immigration until illegal immigration issues are addressed. He is setting the stage to possibly become a major contender in this pivotal Senate race.
