Details Emerge on Idaho Shooting Incident
In a startling online post, Weslophile shared a photo of herself in camouflage, adorned with a belt of rifle shells. This unnerving image surfaced alongside new revelations from a recent sheriff’s press conference.
Officials report that Royley had been living in his car prior to his brutal attack, which resulted in the deaths of two firefighters and left another seriously injured.
Cootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris revealed that the post made by Wes Loffeye, shortly before the tragic events unfolded, is now under scrutiny.
Authorities detailed a response involving over 300 law enforcement personnel from various agencies, who worked for hours to manage the situation following the outbreak of gunfire.
Reportedly, Royley’s abandoned car fell from a mountain ledge, preventing him from fleeing the scene. Fire truck wheels were also compressed to thwart any attempts at escape.
While a motive for the attack is still unclear, it has been noted that authorities have not conducted a search for Royley’s vehicle. Sheriff Norris indicated that they had no evidence of a manifesto nor connections to Middle Eastern terrorist groups.
Born in California, the shooter had been residing in the Cool Darene area since 2024. Throughout this time, local police had several minor interactions with him—mostly concerning trespassing and welfare checks due to reports of him living in his car.
Norris mentioned that these interactions were “very, very minor,” and investigators did not find any significant criminal background in Idaho. It appears that Royley had also lived in California and Arizona prior to this.
It was reported that an individual named Polier was injured by a self-inflicted gunshot after deliberately igniting a fire in the Canfield Mountain area just after 1 PM, then opening fire on responding firefighters. The exact intention behind starting the fire—whether to lure them into an ambush or due to other inconsistencies—remains uncertain.
Royley reportedly employed a shotgun during the confrontation.
The fire he started continues to burn over 26 acres, though authorities anticipate it will be contained by Monday evening.
This story is still developing, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
