Trump claims Biden 'wanted me here' during visit to Alligator Alcatraz lockup

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden remarked that he “wanted me here” during a visit to the newly established crocodile Alcatraz immigration camp in the Everglades.

As he spoke to reporters gathered in large white tents, Trump, both the 45th and 47th president, inquired, “Did Biden want me here?” while gesturing toward the dog kennel-style chain-link fence setups.

Trump expressed, “It didn’t work that way, but he wanted me here, that son of a bitch,” referring to Biden, who is also the Republican governor of Florida, along with Chris Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security.

While campaigning against Biden for a second non-consecutive term last year, Trump, now 79, has been dealing with four criminal cases.

If convicted on the most serious charges regarding alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election and mishandling classified documents, he could have faced a life sentence.

Trump, the first former president to face criminal charges, has consistently argued that Biden’s Department of Justice has “weaponized” these cases against him.

Biden, who suspended his reelection campaign last July amid concerns about his cognitive abilities, has denied any involvement in the legal issues surrounding Trump.

Only one of the four cases was brought to trial before the election. Trump was convicted in May 2024 for falsifying business records to conceal payments made during the 2016 campaign, though he did not face penalties.

Republicans have claimed that the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, who is a Democrat, coordinated the prosecution with Biden’s administration.

Besides the New York case, Trump has also faced federal allegations in South Florida related to his first term, as well as election-related cases in D.C. and issues stemming from Georgia’s elections.

His win against then-President Kamala Harris on November 5th complicated matters for his prosecution, making any prison time in New York highly unlikely.

There was no immediate response from a Biden spokesperson when comments were requested.
