Arch Manning’s Rising Expectations

Arch Manning might just have more to shoulder than the legacy of his famous family when the next season rolls around.

During a recent episode of ESPN’s “Get Up,” Paul Finebaum offered high praise for the Texas redshirt sophomore quarterback.

When Finebaum was asked about the expectations for both Manning and the Longhorns, he set quite a lofty goal.

“Absolute roof. I think there’s a reasonable chance that Arch Manning will be seated in the front row at the Heisman ceremony in New York,” Finebaum remarked. “This assumes that his team is going to compete not just in the SEC but also for the national championship.”

Finebaum also suggested that if coach Steve Sarkisian had introduced Manning during a playoff matchup against Ohio State last year, the Longhorns could have emerged victorious instead of the Buckeyes.

At the conclusion of his comments, Feinbaum posited that Manning could be the best quarterback we’ve seen since a notable football star.

“We also believe Arch Manning is the best college football quarterback since Tim Tebow emerged in 2006,” Finebaum added.

During his time in college, Tim Tebow achieved remarkable stats, with 9,285 passing yards and 88 touchdowns, while also leading Florida to two national championships.

Manning showed promise in the limited game time last season. However, even with some impressive statistics, it seems overly ambitious to expect him to replicate Tebow’s feats at this point.

Regardless of how the season unfolds, the media is likely to focus intensely on Peyton and Eli Manning’s nephew.

Texas is currently ranked first in ESPN’s preseason power rankings. Manning and the Longhorns aim to live up to these expectations and make a strong bid for the championship this season.
