Model’s Vacation Turns Sour Over Seating Choices
Brazilian model Ju Isen recently shared an unusual story about her vacation, which took a turn when her boyfriend chose to stay in economy class while she opted for business class. She felt confident that it wouldn’t be an issue, but things unfolded quite differently.
Isen, 39, explained in an interview that they had been together for three months, and she wanted to celebrate their relationship by planning a trip to Paris, the so-called city of love.
However, when it was time to book their flights, her boyfriend expressed that business class was too costly. This didn’t sit well with Isen, who values comfort during travel and insisted on paying for her own business class ticket. She felt that everyone should make their own choices about how to travel.
Despite this, her boyfriend decided to stick with economy, which initially didn’t seem like a big deal. Yet, after confirming the arrangements, he began making passive-aggressive comments about their differing travel classes. Isen recalled, “He claimed that it wasn’t fair and that it showed a lack of unity.” This change in his attitude left her feeling confused and distant.
As tensions escalated, he accused her of being selfish, insisting she should conform to his preferences. “He wanted me to fit his reality,” she stated, expressing her frustration at feeling guilt-tripped for making her own choices.
Ultimately, during a phone call, he ended the relationship, citing the seating situation as a breaking point. “We haven’t spoken since,” Isen said, reflecting on how this incident highlighted their differing views.
Flying solo to Paris, Isen ultimately decided to embrace her independence. “I realized I don’t want to be with anyone who tries to diminish me,” she shared. Looking back, she believes that this experience was liberating, allowing her to enjoy her trip despite the rocky start.
Interestingly, she mentioned that her boyfriend, who is financially better off than her, was still bothered by her decision. “He couldn’t see the value in the experience,” she remarked. This experience has left her resolute about investing in her travel comfort in the future, vowing not to compromise. “I’m not going to apologize for enjoying the benefits of my hard work,” she concluded.
Isen noted that this wasn’t her first brush with such situations, having gone viral previously for spending $13,000 to fly first class to avoid discomfort in economy.
