Single-Engine Plane Flips Over in South Carolina Backyard

Surveillance footage revealed an unusual scene: a Cessna 150 upside down in a backyard in South Carolina. The incident, which occurred around 9 a.m. on June 29, involved the aircraft landing awkwardly in a grassy area of Perzer, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Vicki Coker’s security cameras caught the moment the small plane tipped over in her garden. It appears the pilot was attempting to land on a grass strip near Williams Road but, when the plane hit uneven ground, it unexpectedly lifted back into the air.

In a split-second decision, the pilot chose to intentionally flip the aircraft, thinking that was the best way to avoid worse damage. Fortunately, the pilot survived the incident, according to FAA officials.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is now conducting an investigation into the accident. They mentioned that the plane is considered damaged significantly enough to be classified as an accident. “The full extent of the damage is yet to be determined,” an NTSB spokesperson stated.

Overall, this surprising mishap has drawn attention and raised questions about safety protocols for small aircraft in residential areas.
