Independence Day Weekend Kicks Off
The long-awaited Independence Day weekend, filled with sunshine and fireworks, is finally here. Before you crack open a cold drink or toss a burger on the grill, it’s a good moment to reflect on what makes this country special.
Ally Beth Stucky, a host on BlazeTV, maintains that being “friendly” is essential, even as she recognizes that the country isn’t perfect. She also points out that imperfection doesn’t take away from America’s greatness.
“We’ve come to see just how, well, perhaps a bit corrupted many of our leaders have become. There’s definitely a sense that some bureaucrats have really turned against the people,” Stucky remarks.
“I cherish America, not because she’s without flaws or doesn’t make mistakes, but because, honestly, there’s no massive issue right now that feels insurmountable. It’s about the values we’ve established, which I believe are some of the most significant a nation can have.”
Stucky elaborates on foundational ideas, stating, “The belief that everyone is created equal, the notion of inherent rights bestowed by our creator, which are above any government authority. The principles of personal autonomy, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Those countries that stand by such ideas are certainly fewer than those who do not, especially when it comes to freedom rights.”
These ideas are, indeed, the bedrock of American identity. Yet, they require ongoing commitment. “It needs a determined effort to keep those principles alive. It’s essential—it’s kind of a struggle—to ensure that freedoms are passed down through generations,” she explains.
“God has placed us here for a reason, and part of that purpose is to glorify Him, to find joy, and to pursue excellence. But there’s also an obligation—to bring more truth and light into every sphere of our lives.”
“For thousands of years, Christians have engaged in this not just through political and cultural avenues, but also by establishing charities and organizations that serve humanity,” she mentions.
