Georgia murderer Taco Nash spits at prosecutors after receiving three life sentences for the death of Mi’ckeya Montgomery

A man in Georgia, Taco Nash, has been sentenced to three life terms after the fatal shooting of Mi’ckeya Montgomery, the mother of his daughter. This occurred while she was holding their child. The incident took place in June 2022, and Nash was found guilty recently in Dekalb County court.

Nash, 25, received a life sentence without parole, accompanied by two additional life sentences and an extra 60 years for the murder. Following the court hearing, the Montgomery family expressed relief, stating, “He’s where he needs to be.”

According to prosecutors, Nash shot Montgomery behind her child’s daycare in Decatur, Georgia. The couple had a tumultuous relationship and shared an 18-month-old daughter, yet they were under court orders that prohibited contact.

Despite these legal restrictions, Nash reached out to Montgomery repeatedly on the morning of the shooting, seeking to return some belongings. Montgomery, however, ignored him and went on to pick up their daughter.

The daycare staff were aware of the strained relationship and had been instructed to call 911 if Nash appeared. Nash confronted Montgomery outside the daycare, leading to a chaotic situation where employees had to rush inside and call the police.

Reports indicate that Nash forced his way into the building, brandishing a weapon, and threatened Montgomery, demanding she leave with him and the baby. All the while, employees heard screams from outside and quickly exited, disappearing into the nearby woods.

When police arrived, they heard a gunshot. Shortly after, Nash emerged with blood on him and claimed that Montgomery had shot herself.

Investigators later found Montgomery with a gunshot wound to the head, the firearm positioned under her hand, leading authorities to conclude that it was not a self-inflicted injury. They believe Montgomery was holding her daughter when the tragic event occurred. Fortunately, the child was unhurt and taken to a local hospital.

In a shocking twist, before Nash exited the woods, he contacted a relative of Montgomery, expressing remorse for the incident.

At a July 2 trial, Nash faced several charges and was found guilty of malicious murder, multiple counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, domestic violence, and more. After the verdict was delivered, DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Brian Lake pronounced a substantial sentence.
