Jamie King Engaged to Austin Sosa Amid Personal Struggles

Jamie King seems to be settling into a new chapter of her life. The “Dixie Heart” actress is engaged to investment banker Austin Sosa, following a tumultuous divorce from her ex-husband, Kyle Newman.

At 46, King recently lost physical custody of her sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9, and faced eviction from her Los Angeles home due to unpaid rent exceeding $42,000. She noted, “We were together [Sosa’s] parents that have led to their engagement.”

According to sources, King has become quite close to Sosa’s family. A recent snapshot showed King flaunting a diamond ring shortly after a visit to a salon in West Hollywood.

Though King shared a post on Instagram that included a mention of Sosa, she hasn’t posted any photos with him. “My God, I am the luckiest and most grateful mother ever. I want to thank Pammy, Chase, Austin, Gwendolyn, and Carlos,” she expressed.

In March, a judge ruled that King and Newman would share legal custody of their two children, but Newman retains physical custody. King was granted supervised visitation rights, seeing her sons three times a week, and was required to complete a six-month rehabilitation program for substance use.

This custody arrangement changed significantly after King was unable to finish the required rehabilitation, which included weekly tests, parenting classes, and counseling sessions with her children.

“I didn’t think of myself as calm or not calm. I quit using drugs when I was 17,” King stated in a previous interview.

Newman sought sole custody in October 2024, alleging that King had been intoxicated while caring for their son.

King’s divorce from Newman, filed in 2020 after 13 years of marriage, has involved a lengthy legal battle over finances and custody. They settled the divorce in 2023. Recently, King openly addressed her eviction and financial struggles.
