Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo surprises his parents with news about making the All-Star Game.

Brian Wu’s MLB All-Star Game Debut

Seattle Mariners pitcher Brian Wu, who made his debut in 2023, is set to take the mound for the American League at this season’s MLB All-Star Game.

Wu shared the exciting news with his parents over the phone, and the Mariners recorded the moment for all to see. It’s quite a memorable way to break such thrilling news, right?

Initially, he teased his father, inquiring about a trip to Atlanta, leading to a wave of emotion when he revealed he made the All-Star roster. His father, Clayton, erupted with joy, declaring, “There’s no weird path!” Wu’s mother, Hillary, was equally surprised, exclaiming, “Holy s—, Brian! What a god, I can’t believe it!”

Once the excitement settled, Wu’s father confirmed they would indeed travel to Atlanta for the game. Wu has had an impressive start to this season, showcasing a 2.77 ERA over 17 starts, amassing 104 strikeouts against just 19 walks. This follows a strong showing in 2024, where he maintained a 2.89 ERA across 22 starts.

As he conveyed his news, Wu joined fellow Mariners Cal Laurie, Julio Rodriguez, and Andre Munoz on the American League team, making it a significant moment for both him and the franchise.
