Trump Visits Flood-Affected Texas

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited Kerrville, Texas, recently, where they met with first responders and families impacted by the devastating flood that hit the Texas Hill Country. The situation left behind significant destruction and heartbreak.

The President interacted with around 30 first responders and security personnel in an area heavily affected by the flood. This came after officials from Texas Emergency Management and the Kerrville Fire Department provided updates on the emergency situation.

Later, Trump spoke personally with families who lost loved ones during the flooding on July 3 and 4. He expressed his sorrow for the tragedy, stating, “Well, this is tough. I’ve never seen anything like that.”

During a roundtable at the Happy State Bank Expo Hall, Trump described a family he met who had tragically lost two children. “They were devastated,” he said, reflecting on the severity of the situation.

According to reports, approximately 120 individuals remain unaccounted for following the flood that saw the Guadalupe River swell dramatically.

“I’ve never seen anything like that, a little narrow river that becomes a monster, that’s what happened,” Trump remarked. He emphasized the purpose of their visit: to share the nation’s compassion and support for those affected by this horrific incident.

He mentioned praying for the families, particularly highlighting the young girls who attended Camp Mystic and lost their lives in the flood. “They were there because they loved God,” he said, offering a sense of comfort in their memory.

Trump also acknowledged the loss of heroic individuals who attempted to save others. “As a nation, we lament every life that has been wiped out by the flood,” he noted, extending thoughts and prayers to the grieving families.

Melania Trump expressed her heartfelt condolences, saying, “My deepest sympathy for all my parents who have lost their beautiful young souls.” She underscored the collective sorrow felt for the affected community.

During her visit, young women from Camp Mystic gifted Melania a bracelet to honor the memory of a girl lost in the flood. She promised to return and added, “I pray for them and give them my strength and love.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, joined by other state officials, commended Trump and his administration for their swift response to the disaster. He highlighted the efforts made by Coast Guard and other resources that were mobilized in response to the crisis.

Abbott expressed gratitude for Trump’s prompt action in signing the Carr County Disaster Declaration, which he noted was critical for effective response and rebuilding efforts.
