Trump approves ICE activity following protests at California cannabis farms

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he has given federal immigration agents “full permission” amidst clashes with protesters during enforcement actions at a cannabis farm in California.

Trump recently traveled from Texas to Washington, where he observed areas affected by severe flooding that claimed at least 120 lives. He shared a lengthy post on social media regarding violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

In his post, he mentioned witnessing individuals throwing rocks and bricks at ICE officers while they were on the roads. He expressed concern over the damage caused to newly issued vehicles for these officers, emphasizing that such acts reflect a serious disrespect for law and order.

In light of the violence, Trump indicated he has instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security and other officials to take decisive action against those responsible for such assaults. He reaffirmed, “I give them full permission to protect themselves, as they protect the public. I don’t want to see a law enforcement vehicle attacked again! Immediate arrests are necessary, and I appreciate attention to this issue!”

A representative from the United Farm Workers reported that one worker succumbed to injuries. DHS Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin clarified that this individual had no interactions with ICE or Customs and Border Protection (CBP), stating, “He was not pursued by law enforcement, but he climbed onto the roof of a greenhouse and fell 30 feet.”
