Mamdani win 'NOT A COINCIDENCE' — 2028 outlook for America

Zohran Mamdani Appointed as NYC Mayor

On July 1st, Zohran Mamdani officially became the Democratic mayor of New York City. At just 33, Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist and has the backing of notable political figures like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders. Known for his support of Palestinian-led movements, he proposes policies such as a rent freeze, city-run grocery stores, a minimum wage of $30, significant corporate tax hikes, and the establishment of a Community Safety Bureau that aims to decrease the reliance on police.

His nomination has raised eyebrows, especially internationally, but critics argue they should be more concerned. A certain commentator, perhaps expressing alarm, remarks that this nomination isn’t merely local discontent; it highlights a troubling direction for the country if more citizens remain unaware.

Critics claim Mamdani embodies the future the Left envisions, where excessive taxation stifles ambition and American ideals are redefined through a Marxist lens.

Comparison has been made between Mamdani and other progressives like Beto O’Rourke, but some find him particularly unsettling due to what they describe as a mix of communism and Islamism in his ideology.

A commentator suggested that while Mamdani might resist being labeled a communist, the truth might be closer to “diet communism.” They indicated that there’s increasing evidence suggesting his alignment with communist beliefs today.

Back in 2019, Mamdani candidly acknowledged that revolutionary Marxist writings, particularly from Franz Fanon, shaped his perspectives. A year later, he tweeted about the election of a Communist mayor in India, hinting at a desire to apply similar policies in New York City.

In a campaign video from 2021, Mamdani expressed plans to buy houses in the private market and turn them into community-owned properties, a vision that some consider disturbingly idealistic.

His past actions reveal connections to Palestine activism. During his university years, he co-founded a chapter focused on Palestine Justice, playing a crucial role in organizing anti-Israel protests. Following a recent attack in October, he tweeted about the situation in Gaza, referring to it as genocide, and he proposed a bill to deny funding to organizations perceived as complicit in Israeli war crimes.

Furthermore, Mamdani has taken a firm stance against the existence of Israel as a Jewish state, even stating intentions to arrest figures like Benjamin Netanyahu if they entered New York as mayor. This, critics argue, isn’t just political rhetoric—it’s a dangerous ideology that poses a threat to the Jewish community in a city with a significant Jewish population.

The rise of figures like Mamdani is seen as indicative of a Democratic Party increasingly inclined to adopt leftist ideologies. Some argue that his specific brand of communism is becoming the new identity for the party, particularly as they nurture others, like Ocasio-Cortez, for potential future presidential bids.

In conclusion, as the political landscape shifts, it appears that the Democrats are not merely flirting with socialism anymore; they’re embracing it as integral to their identity.
